Busy, busy!

Lots of preparation going into next term – I’m teaching in two primary schools, three days as classroom music teacher in a high school near Blackpool, and running more groups for More Music…

More Music workshops:

UkulelesThe Ukulele group is to continue, but now on a Tuesday every week for two hours from 7 to 9. from the 30th September. Beginners to advanced players all very welcome.

The Folk group continues too, on Folk Group on StageMondays every week for two hours from 7 to 9.  Any instrument welcome.

New workshops include:

Popular Music theory
Mondays 4 to 5:30pm from the 29th September
These practical theory sessions will allow you to explore music theory in a way that is more relevant to musicians wanting to play music in pop, rock folk or jazz bands, as opposed to ‘classical’ music. Linked to the Trinity Popular Music Theory exams (optional), these sessions will give you the skills and the knowledge you need to understand why the music you love works and help you compose your own. N.B. Many music degrees now accept both Trinity and ABRSM theory examinations in their entry requirements.

Beginners Folk Dance Every other Tuesday from 7th October – 1-3pm.
Enjoy going to ceilidhs or barn dances? Travelling to festivals abroad? Learn dances from the UK and Europe or find out more about the dances and the music that goes with them? You could even have a go at calling the dances yourself, or help make up your own.

Beginners Guide to Music Technology Every other Tuesday from 7th October – 4-6pm
Learn to make your own podcasts, record and edit audio, DJ, or create musical scores using a mixture of freeware and professional software.
